Singing in times of corona

What a time! I could hardly have imagined such a break in my life, suddenly not being able to give concerts or hardly being able to make music with other people. But it is a great joy to continue voice lessons (online of course) with so many singers on a weekly basis. Fitness training for the voice is the order of the day, as choir rehearsals are all cancelled. Online workshops on certain technical topics or breathing can also fill the big hole a little.

But then suddenly there is a request for a real performance! Tomorrow we sing Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata BWV 74 in the Martinikirche in Siegen under the musical direction of Peter Scholl. With the wonderfully beautiful aria "Komm, komm, mein Herze steht dir offen" I break my Corona-related singing silence. In the time after that, I will also be appearing regularly with smaller performances in the mass or in Martiniklänge, which will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Martinikirche. Like this, we keep the musical tradition warm until the larger concerts may return! I wish everybody a lot of courage and little melodies!
